Our PS program is led by our very dedicated Mrs. Erin Mach, while our Pre-K is led by both Mrs. Kathy Pagorek & Mrs. Sara Davis. Pre-school has 2 full time teaching assistants while Pre-K each has one full time teaching assistant.
Our Team is highly experienced in working with young children, and we meet each and every preschooler where they are developmentally to help them reach their full potential and be prepared for Kindergarten.
A place to grow wings
Welcome to our little eagles Preschool & Pre-kindergarten, a program nestled in a warm, nurturing environment fostering growth and development of young children, while stimulating their natural wonder and curiosity through exploration and discovery.
St. Thomas More Preschool/Pre-K is the perfect balance of academics and healthy play. It is our goal to provide your child with the most current trends in early childhood education along with a safe, loving and fun environment. Children will be encouraged to make smart, creative choices with the guidance of professional, experienced and highly educated teachers. We offer a systematic approach to learning that builds a foundation helping your child transition to kindergarten.
St. Thomas More Preschool/Pre-K offers young children the opportunity to grow mentally, physically and spiritually in a safe, structured environment. The program provides a rich learning environment that uses a core curriculum, Joyful Discoveries. It consists of 12 Units plus several small group routines. Three small group routines relate to the theme: Wordless Books, 123 Storybook Rereads, and Math. Two small group routines are unrelated to the theme: Alphabetics & Telling Terrific Tales.
The class is center-based; giving children the choice to explore art, books, blocks, dramatic play, math and science, music, and sensory activities each day. The children develop fine and gross motor skills in individual, small and large group settings, in the classroom, and outside.
By participating in the St. Thomas More Preschool/Pre-K, children will gain knowledge and experience in all the developmental areas: Cognitive, Adaptive, Motor, Social & Emotional, and Communication. The program uses the Indiana's Early Learning Standards and The Goals for the Teaching of Religion with Preschool Outcomes (Diocese of Gary) to plan experiences for children.
Eligible students must be potty trained and 3 or 4 years old on or before August 1st of the current school year in which you are enrolling.
