The athletic program at St. Thomas More School is operated through the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) of Northwest Indiana.

The Northwest Indiana CYO is committed to providing a ministry that helps bring youth to their full human potential. The CYO enables youth to reach  higher achievement by having requirements demanding specific grades in order to be able to participate and maintain eligibility in CYO programs. The CYO provides opportunities for young people to develop strong moral character, self-esteem and leadership qualities through activities of a social, educational, recreational and athletic nature.

Bring Out Your Children's Full Potential!

The objective of CYO athletics is to be well organized, uniform in philosophy, properly supervised and provide opportunities for the youth of Northwest Indiana to develop physical fitness, self-discipline, mental alertness, and an attitude of good sportsmanship based upon Catholic principals of fair play and cooperation.

Youngsters can choose programs from the following activities:

Athletics are seen as one way of implementing the mission of the CYO.

General Guidelines

To better prepare the many adult volunteers and coaches, Coaches' Certification Programs are held to stress the social, psychological, and spiritual impact on the coach and players. On the technical side, various clinics are sponsored each year to refresh coaches on the updated rules and policies.
