Making a Difference: Capital Campaign/Project Update
Great progress has been made in getting our infrastructure project started. You would not recognize some parts of the building! The original focus of construction was the school building. Construction will still be occurring in the mechanical rooms and in the church from August until the end of October. In September, when we get to the church side of the building, we will need to have Mass in the gym as construction is completed.
As part of the renovations completed during the summer of 2017, new electrical and HVAC units were installed, Wi-Fi was updated throughout the building and several bathrooms were renovated. Creating “Classrooms of the Future” will involve both necessary and aesthetic improvements, which are still in need of funding including the installation of the following:
- New ceilings
- New flooring
- Upgraded lighting
- Modern desks/tables and chairs
- And more!
Our teachers, along with other professionals, have been asked to envision the learning environment best suited for student success and high achievement levels and are aiding in implementing further design improvements. Next summer, we will start to upgrade the classrooms as we have money. We hope to fund these changes through the Annual Fund Drive and other fundraising done by the Development Office.
Thank you for supporting the campaign and making air conditioning and the other needed upgrades at St. Thomas More School a reality!
